OH MY GOD. I think I just had a mini coronary. I could watch them every night for the rest of my life - honest. Their 2004 Olympia gig is one of my favourite gigs of all time.

Jim - Check Another Festival Bites The Dust topic from last week, comment 24 on July 7th. It is proof that Simon Sauce, my sauce, knows his onions.

You asked yeaterday who is he, Sauce that is. He is my man on the inside, an insider so to speak. He keeps up with things and lets Titmus know the latest news, Sauce is the man. Simon Sauce that is.

OH MY GOD (Part 2) - excellent news! Show at Olympia Theatre in 2004 was worth the lifetime wait and their show at El Picnic later in the year was just as good (except they didn’t do “Neon Lights”).

Okay, so I’m going to be in a field in Wicklow for a day in September…..

i just love the way people think theyre so clever saying “they’re checking their emails” etc as if theyre the first person to say it.It just shows how clueless the average person is about how electronic music is composed, produced and performed. I guarantee you they put more effort and thought into their performance than the latest flavor of the month indie hipsters. Rant over

Fred @ 2 - dude, your information was mostly wrong - you got the artist right but the wrong date and wrong support bill. Sorry but Simon Sauce needs to stick to the cooking and leave live gig news to the experts ;-)

Jim - Saucey knows stuff, he told me not to broadcast it too early as his gaffer would cut his hands off, so i just threw in a September date just to get the kids excited, it didn’t work. I may change my tactics next time, when Saucey says stuff, I listen.

He’s a shit cook, don’t think he eats actually, Mrs Titmus has cooked him many a dish, and the its been passed on to the dog.

Anyway, should be a good gig. Although finding 5,000 Kraftwerk to pay €90 for a show the week after the Picnic will probably be tough.

Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Can’t wait. Their EP 05 gig is one of my favourite gigs of all time. Peculiar time for a gig though, so soon after EP. Pity they’re not playing AT EP.

Is it outdoor or in a tent, Jim?

Jim, the A day in the Life website shows a photo of a beautiful valley in wicklow and states the performers, the promoters, i.e. POD concerts…and the wrong date (13.08.08). Could they not give more info (and get the details right) before everyone forks out. I love electronic music but I can’t afford €90 (I am spending €100 on seeing lots of good artists over 3 days at Mantua).

Is the date definitely September 13th?
A day in the life website has it down as 13.08.08 - typo on their behalf?

Per Ticketmaster site, as Fordrick says, tickets now go on sale Friday

Date is September 13 so the POD site is wrong (which is par for the course going on the mis-spellings, wrong names and typos in the list of bands we got from them for the Body & Soul arena at the Picnic).

This will be an absolutely unbelieveable gig, Especially when one sees where it is. If you google image “Lough Tay”, you will be able to see where the gig will be. By any standards, this is one not to be missed. It brings into focus what Kraftwerk say in their song “Planet of Visions:..Man, Nature, Technology”. Be there or be square.

The type of crowd will be generally Electric Picnic type. Mostly very into music rather than just going to any festival for an excuse for a piss-up. There will be an extremely hard-core Kraftwerk fanbase there. When I say extreme hard-core, I mean it. They are generally non-rave types who are there to feast on the wonders of a Kraftwerk concert. An event, by the way, which is quite unlike any concert you have ever been to.

One of my mates is trying to get me to go to see Kraftwerk at Lough Tay and has bought me a ticket, but me being a social retard and not much interested in German techno music am trying to make all sorts of excuses not to go. I might crash the car into a bus stop full of people on the day or something…

Interresting comment. Fortunately Kraftwerk are not German Techno. Some of their music, you will have heard sampled in many pop artists, ie Coldplay, Madonna, U2, Daft Punk etc. So I reckon you will recognise a lot of their music. I reckon even if you don’t like Kraftwerk, you should go for the setting and the craic. Enjoy it!!1
