Music festivals and open-air shows – the final countdown
Jim Carroll
In a throwaway comment a few weeks ago, I said that we’ve probably had over 60 music festivals and outdoor shows in Ireland this summer. Then, you lot took over and the monster list began. It went on and on and on.
At the time of writing, we’re up to 65 festivals. Thanks to EVERYONE who’s contributed to the list (especially Pedro, Nialler and Ian). If you think of anything else which should be here, let me know.

counting is deadly
I would never have considered Marley and Malahide gigs and certainly Justin T and Rod at RDS as festivals. Their just outdoor gigs.
quint – see first line of my post above: “over 60 music festivals and outdoor shows in Ireland this summer”. we were counting everything involving tents and the open-air.
This festival has been on the go for the last ten years and attracts people from all over Connaught and even further afield. Unlike most festivals though this one supports charities every year!
