GAA: Wexford 0-13 Kildare 0-12:WEXFORD TURNED in a stunning finish to edge victory at Enniscorthy last night. The sides were level at 0-11 with five minutes left, but Wexford struck for two points from Brendan Halpin and Derek Butler to go two clear with one minute remaining.

Kildare’s Pádraig Fogarty pointed a free, but it was the home side who closed out the game.

With Michael Regan pointing two frees, and Kevin O’Grady adding another, Wexford led 0-3 to 0-2, with Kildare having points from Pádraig Fogarty and Fionn Dowling. The sides went on to trade points leaving Wexford leading 0-5 to 0-3 at the interval.

The start of the second half was delayed by 20 minutes due to a power failure, but when Kildare went ahead for the first time, 0-9 to 0-8, through a 41st-minute Fogarty point, it looked as if they were in control, but Wexford prevailed.
