The current strength of junior golf in Waterford was very much in evidence on Sunday when they beat Tipperary by five matches to nil to capture the Munster Inter County Boys title at Fermoy.

Irish Boys panellists David Briden and Michael Canty won the top matches and they had considerable support from Clancy Bowe, John Hegarty and Ian McCarthy who all had comfortable wins. The other team members were Sean O'Halloran and John Dunphy.

Manager Pat Murphy reckons that the rivalry among near neighbours West Waterford, Dungarvan and Gold Coast has added to the competitiveness of the juniors and he can look forward to more success.
