12 PADDY WALLACE

He is such a good footballer and showed this again at Twickenham, especially in creating the try for secondrow Dan Tuohy. Tried to pick holes with his running and distribution. 7/10

4 JOHANN MULLER

He was easy to spot than he normally is but on second view, you realise how much work he's doing at rucks. The lineout ran smoothly but he didn't carry as much as he might like. 6/10

10 PADDY JACKSON

He is a young man with plenty of ability. This was a tough afternoon but if he learns from it, then it'll be a huge positive to take forward. Drop goal probably wasn't the correct option. 5/10

14 ANDREW TRIMBLE

Not sure who referee Nigel Owens deemed guilty of bringing down the Leinster maul for the penalty try but Trimble was a culprit. Ran hard, tackled big but the odd handling error crept in. 6/10

11 CRAIG GILROY

Slipped off a tackle here and there but never really got a chance to demonstrate his prowess in attack. Nice feet to elude McFadden. 6/10

9 RUAN PIENAAR

Another superb place-kicking performance, he also probed around the fringes of the breakdown and further out. Leinster didn't leave too many holes. 7/10

1 TOM COURT

Apart from a couple of scrums he had no obvious discomfort in the tight. It was his tackle on Reddan that forced a turnover and he made plenty of those during the game. 6/10

15 STEFAN TERBLANCHE

One clearance out on the full and a silly yellow card for a petulant rather than malicious tip tackle on the debit side but he caught some good ball and tried to stretch Leinster in possession. 5/10

2 RORY BEST

He gets through so much work and much of it involves the heavy lifting of forward play. The lineout ran smoothly and he was a typical firebrand in broken play. Rating: 7. 2/10

3 JOHN AFOA

He is such a brilliant footballer; given his skill set he doesn't look out of place anywhere on the pitch. Spent a fair bit of time on the wings but was productive and effective in anything he touched. 8/10

6 STEPHEN FERRIS

Competed in his traditional wholehearted style but wasn't able to make either the yardage or usual quote of thunderous tackles that galvanises team-mates. Well shackled. Rating: 6. 6/10

8 PEDRIE WANNENBURG

Couldn't fault his work ethic but he won't want to watch his attempted inside flick pass from a scrum in the Leinster 22. Game didn't run his way. 6/10

5 DAN TUOHY

If he doesn't get a plane ticket to New Zealand with Ireland this summer then it will be an absolute travesty. Huge first half with and without the ball. Try too. Great performance. 8/10

13 DARREN CAVE

No longer a debate about who is the second best number 13 in Irish rugby: great feet, balance, vision, angles, defence. The old master got away once but he returned the compliment. Brilliant. 8/10

7 CHRIS HENRY

He worked very hard in an engaging battle between the respective backrows. Made a nuisance of himself at the breakdown and, got his hands free to offload in the tackle. 7/10

THE BENCH

While Ian Humphreys contributed to the prolonged continuity that led to Dan Tuohy's try the rest of the Ulster replacements struggled to make an impact. 5/10
