UCC 7-18 DCU 0-10:WATERFORD'S PAURIC O'Mahony bagged a hat-trick of goals as UCC romped to a 29-point rout of DCU in the Fitzgibbon Cup at the Mardyke last night.
The Cork students, who are hosting the finals weekend next month, showed why they’re one of the fancied sides with an impressive display.
UCC led by 1-12 to 0-5 at the interval, O’Mahony blasting in the goal from a close-range free after 25 minutes and the second-half was simply one-way traffic.
The impressive Willie Griffin set up Stephen Moylan for the second goal after 38 minutes before Griffin and O’Mahony made it 4-14 to 0-8 entering the closing quarter.
UCC didn’t relax as Griffin, substitute Dean Brosnan and O’Mahony added goals late on to round off an emphatic victory.
