Tipperary's football board have postponed until tonight any decision on whether to lodge an objection to Sunday's controversial Munster championship match in Tralee, although the goal in Kerry's winning score of 1-11 to 08 was seen on television to be invalid.
Board secretary Eddie Lonergan said last night: "We hope there will be a county board meeting called and we will discuss the matter tomorrow (tonight). I'm not going to say any more about it."
The chances of a re-fixture being ordered are considered remote, unless Kerry were to agree, and even then the Munster Council would have to consent. County chairman Sean Walsh confirmed that Kerry were not contemplating such a gesture, although as there had been no meeting to discuss the matter, he was speaking in a private capacity.
"My personal opinion is that it would be very, very bad for the GAA to set a trend of changing results of matches after they're over," he said. "If we proceed down that road, there'll be no match safe. We would also be mindful of the fact that we scored what turned out to be a good goal in last year's All-Ireland semi-final but it was disallowed."
