THE 1994 Leinster Senior Cup winners made light work of UCD in yesterday's first round tie at Lakelands Park.

Terenure were never in trouble with Ronan Browne proving the vital cog in the three-quarter division to help Terenure to a convincing 28-6 win.

The visitors had taken the lead through a Brian Carey penalty but a break in mid-field from Browne then allowed David Coleman to go over in the left hand side.

Coleman marched over for his second just on the half hour to leave Terenure 10-3 in front at the break.

The first few minutes in the second half were crucial with Carey having a dropped goal attempt bounce off the crossbar while, Terenure wing, Pete Walsh needed all his wits about him to clear a wayward kick but nonetheless perilous kick from Carey.
