A spirited finish by Our Lady's Templemore enabled them to take a dramatic one-point victory over neighbours Nenagh CBS in a cracking Dr Harty Cup Munster Colleges' replay at The Ragg yesterday.
Our Lady's got off to a flying start when Eoin Shortt goaled after three minutes. However, Nenagh fought back well and on the strength of a goal from David Kennedy midway through the period led by a point at the break, 1-7 to 1-6. Nenagh increased the advantage to two points shortly after the restart but a determined Our Lady's were back in front by a point in the 40th minute and looked the better side.
A spectacular goal from Brian Quinn in the 44th minute turned the game back in Nenagh's favour but an undaunted Our Lady's regained the initiative through three points from forward John Sweeney.
In a hectic climax Niall McGrath reduced arrears to a single point with a minute of normal time remaining but Our lady's held firm in the face of mounting pressure to record a deserved victory.
