St Patrick's, Navan 2-11 Moate CS 0-9: COLM O'ROURKE'S St Patrick's, Navan side booked their place in the last four with eight points to spare over their rivals from Moate at Páirc Tailteann on Saturday.
Fiachra Ross’s goal helped St Pat’s establish a five-point lead (1-3 to 0-1) in the opening 10 minutes. It was 1-7 to 0-5 at the break.
Ross increased the lead to six points on the restart. Although centre forward Brian Finnerty was dismissed on a straight red card, Moate halved the deficit.
But when St Pat’s Shane Barry’s sideline ball floated all the way to the net on 52 minutes it effectively ended Moate’s hopes.
