LEAGUE OF IRELAND PREMIER DIVISION Sporting Fingal 1 UCD 2:EVAN McMILLAN powered home a late winner as Sporting blew their chance to go top of the table last night in Santry.

UCD skipper McMillan got his head to Chris Mulhall’s 87th-minute corner to direct the ball past goalkeeper Brendan Clarke.

The result was harsh on Sporting Fingal who controlled the second half, though UCD had had the better of the first despite falling behind early on. Sporting led after four minutes when Eamon Zayed swept the ball home from close range.

UCD’s equaliser came on 18 minutes when Shaun Williams’ foul on Dwayne Wilson was punished. Paul Corry’s free-kick was met by defender Andy Boyle who headed home his first goal of the season.
