Only one addition: Arsene Wenger has warned Arsenal fans not to expect any more pre-season signings after his solitary move in the summer transfer market to capture German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.

Wenger insisted he was not worried by his lack of transfer activity. "I do not expect to sign any more players. We have lots of good young players and I am pleased with their attitude."

Wenger's priority before the new campaign starts next month is to ensure captain Patrick Vieira commits himself to a new contract.

"There's no news yet. It is all going well, but as long as it is not signed, it's not signed."

As well as Vieira, Arsenal are still in talks with Sylvain Wiltord over a new deal, with French clubs Lyon and Paris St Germain reported to be considering a £5 million bid for the striker.

Leaving City behind: Eyal Berkovic could be on his way out of Manchester City, a week after his midfield partner Ali Benarbia quit the club.

City last night confirmed they had received a written transfer request from the 31-year-old Israeli international after he spoke to manager Kevin Keegan.

Berkovic has suffered from injury problems since arriving at the club.

Celtic tie to go ahead: UEFA have confirmed Celtic's Champions League qualifier against FBK Kaunas of Lithuania will go ahead tomorrow despite the death of striker Audrius Slekys.

The 28-year-old was killed when his car left the road on Sunday morning and collided with a concrete structure.

Meanwhile, Celtic have seven days to appeal against the additional one-match ban handed to Chris Sutton (right) for bringing the game into disrepute.

The striker was called before the Scottish FA after claiming Dunfermline "laid down" to Rangers on the final day of the season to hand them the Scottish Premier League title.

Sutton already knew that he would miss the first four games of the new campaign for his double red card after Celtic's win against Kilmarnock on the same day.

Wolves on the hunt: Wolves are holding talks with Italian star Dino Baggio over a possible move to Molineux. Baggio is leaving Lazio on a free transfer and landing his signature would be a major coup for the English club.

However, the loan deal with Spurs for Steffen Iversen seems far from certain after reports suggested problems in the medical Iversen underwent on Friday.

Viduka may be next: Mark Viduka has held talks about his Leeds future with Peter Reid amid reports he wants to leave the club. Viduka is believed to be unhappy about the number of departures from Elland Road.

While Leeds stress Viduka has not put in a transfer request, they must now decide whether to cash in on the striker.

"I've had a talk with Mark Viduka about his Leeds career," Reid said. "But nothing official has come out of those talks."

In contrast, goalkeeper Paul Robinson has given Leeds a rare piece of good news by announcing he plans to stay with the club.

The 23-year-old rejected a £3 million transfer to Aston Villa earlier this month.

Muscle 'like wood': Christian Ziege has undergone further surgery to remove scar tissue from his thigh injury, raising fresh doubts over the Tottenham player's future.
