Five of the 10 eircom League of Ireland matches scheduled for this evening have fallen victim to the weather this afternoon.

Title-chasers Cork City's game with Derry City has been postponed after Turner's Cross was the latest pitch to be deemed unplayable after this morning's torrential rain.

Their main rivals St. Patrick's Athletic have also been left frustrated after Inchicore's Richmond Park suffered the same fate and Galway United's visit was called off.

In the First Division, Shelbourne's meeting with Waterford United, Longford Town's trip to face Wexford Youths and Kildare County's game against Limerick 37 will also have to be played at a later date.
