SLIGO ROVERS got back on the winning trail when they trounced Cork City 4-1 at the showgrounds in the National League Premier Division on Saturday night.
The breakthrough arrived in the 27th minute when Barry Ryan headed Cork in front from John Caulfield's cross.
Sligo responded positively and were on level terms six minutes later thanks to a smashing goal by Padraig Moran who ran half the length of the pitch before finishing with a well placed shot.
Ian Gilzean blazed over the bar from the penalty spot after 48 minutes, but James Mulligan gave them the lead in the 55th minute when he finished with a header from close range, before Mulligan pounced again to make it 3-1 in the 66th minute. Cork's misery was complete when centre back Michael Kerley deflected a free from Moran into his own net eight minutes from time.
