SLEEPYTIME was all the rage yesterday with punters betting on next month's Pertemps 1,000 Guineas. Ladbrokes report continuing strong support for the Henry Cecil-trained filly and have cut her price from 11 to 4 to 9 to 4 favourite.
"Despite the fact that Henry Cecil has a number of well-regarded and high-class fillies it is Sleepytime who is proving far and away the most popular with our customers," said Ladbrokes spokesman Ian Wassell.
Sleepytime has not race since an unlucky-in-running third to stable companion Reams Of Verse (6 to 1 far the first fillies' Classic) in the Fillies' Mile at Ascot in September.
Another well-supported filly yesterday was Pas de Reponse, who will face a maximum of three rivals in her prep race for Newmarket at Maisons-Laffille on Friday.
The Criquette Head-trained Cheveley Park Stakes winner was backed from 9 to 1 in to 7 to 1 for the fillies' Classic with the tote.
The only other acceptors for Friday's Listed Prix Imprudence are Psylla, Imia and Barnata.
