Stuart Slater has decided to sign for English second division promotion hopefuls Watford on a free transfer after rejecting a contract with Premiership Leicester.

The former £1.5 million Celtic and West Ham midfielder was offered a short term deal to stay at Filbert Street until the end of the season.

But he has opted for a move to Vicarage Road on a two and a half year contract.
