Local knowledge proved a plus for Birr Lady Captain Gemma Cullen who teamed up with her sister Pam Blanche (Garryhinch) to retain the Loughanane Sisters Trophy at the Co Offaly course last week.

Far from co-operating, sisters were in close opposition at Elm Park where as Helen O'Connor had two points to spare over Margot Sexton in the Captain's (Padraic O Gaora) Prize to Ladies. Helen's return of 41 points saw her handicap trimmed to 24.

Home pair Joe and Martin Cummins won the popular Brothers open tournament at Forrest Little with 6 up.
