St Mary's College 13 CUS 3:ST MARY'S College advanced to the Junior Cup semi-finals with a win over CUS at Lakelands yesterday. Despite a bright start from the Leeson Street school – Andrew McEvoy's penalty gave them an early lead – this was a game that St Mary's never looked like losing.

CUS’s defence was resolute for most of the game and fullback David O’Tuama produced two superb try-saving tackles to deny Conor Sheridan but Jeff Blackburn got over for a crucial 15th minute try to give St Mary’s a 8-3 half-time lead. Sheridan was the driving force for the victors and his scintillating race down the left produced the insurance try.
