Records are set to tumble at Pau Golf Club in southern France, the oldest course in continental Europe, during the Elf Seniors Open which starts today.
A number of players believe 60 could be broken for the first time this week on the 5,804-yard, par-69 course, established in 1856 by Scottish officers of Wellington's expeditionary force returning from the Peninsular War.
Northern Ireland's Paul Leonard, who won his first title on the European Seniors Tour last week with the help of an unorthodox putting technique, believes anything is possible on this tight but short lay-out.
"There could be some very good scores this week, certainly 63s, but anything is possible," said Leonard.
"Having made the breakthrough, hopefully I can keep the good form going from last week and shoot some low scores."
