Less than a week after Ireland's record victory over Scotland, Keith Wood has announced his engagement to Scottish woman Nicola Vernal.

The 28-year-old Irish captain is currently celebrating in the Highlands, but will return to Wicklow on Monday to link up with the Ireland squad in readiness for the Six Nations encounter with Italy at Lansdowne Road tomorrow week.
