Munster 16 Connacht 0:Defending champions Munster got their Schools A Interprovincial campaign off to a winning start with a deserved victory over Connacht at Musgrave Park.

Munster fullback Dylan Cadogan, who missed an easy penalty effort in the opening minutes, put Munster ahead with a 38-metre penalty on 18 minutes. This gave the home side confidence and they were back on the scoresheet a minute later when prop Toby Adamakin finished off a sweeping move involving backs and forwards to leave it 8-0 at half-time.

Stephen Kerins, Tom McHale and Evan McGrath all tried their best to bring Connacht into the game but a solid Munster defence held firm. Munster went further ahead 11 minutes into the second half when quick ball out the line saw Peter Traynor touch down. Cadogan completed the scoring with his second penalty seven minutes from time.
