Royal Paradise to bounce back

Charlie Swan's Punchestown Tips: 2.00: Lord Alphieross stays well and this extended three miles should be ideal for him.

I think it's a good sign that he managed to win over two and a half at Fairyhouse so he is obviously in good form. Wise Counsel has been knocking on the door in these handicaps and is due a win. He should run well but he may find Lord Alphieross too good.

Selection: Lord Alphieross

2.35: If Good Step turns out again he will be hard to beat. I rode over the banks here once and it was a good laugh, but you do need one that has been schooled well. That's why Enda Bolger's doing so well. He has plenty of banks at his place so they get loads of practice.

Selection: Good Step.

3.10: I think this race is set up for Harchibald. I can't see where the pace is going to come from and Brave Inca, who looks the main danger, would love a strong gallop. I know Macs Joy has some very good form, but I think it is between Harchibald and Brave Inca.

Paul Carberry will probably leave it as late as possible again to launch his challenge, just like at Cheltenham. I thought he gave Harchibald a great ride there. He got a lot of criticism, but that's just part of the job. You are always going to be criticised if you're beaten.

Harchibald was criticised, too, but I think some of the names he has been called are unfair. He is a very good horse and I'd love to have him in my yard. I thought he fought well enough when he won at Kempton and he was just beaten by an out-and-out stayer at Cheltenham.

Selection: Harchibald.

3.45: Numbersixvalverde, Joes Edge and Scarthy Lad look the class horses, but if the ground is very soft my horse Lincam will have a good each-way chance. He can't quicken but he keeps going and he is a good bit better off with Scarthy Lad from when they ran at Limerick.

Selection: Lincam.

4.20: Going into Cheltenham I thought Royal Paradise was a very good horse and if he is back to his best for this he will be hard to beat. He reminds me a little bit of Danoli and not just because he is trained by Tom Foley. He is very tough.

Asian Maze is the other one that stands out. She won over three miles at Liverpool, but soft ground here will help bring her stamina into use. She's a relentless galloper, but I just prefer Royal Paradise who might be a better price.

Selection: Royal Paradise.

4.55: My horse Master Ofthe Chase has a reasonable chance here. He ran a good race at Naas and has had a nice break since. Ray Boy ran a decent race earlier in the week and might be one to watch.

Selection: Master Ofthe Chase.

5.30: A very tough contest to figure out, but at least Overbury Lady has had a run and didn't do too badly behind Farmer Brown at Limerick.

Selection: Overbury Lady.

6.05: The standard of some of the jockeys is uncertain but Hardy Duckett sets a good standard among the horses!

Selection: Hardy Duckett.
