FOLLOWING an inspection of the track at Punchestown at 4.00 p.m. yesterday, the stewards declared the track unfit for today's scheduled meeting due to snow lying on the ground.declarations stand.
Yesterday's turf fixtures at Doncaster and Lingfield were called off after both courses suffered from frost. And Doncaster's clerk of the course, Charlie Moore, was also forced to abandon today's card.
Ayr became another of today's meetings to fall to the cold snap and Cheltenham quickly followed. However, there were no reported problems for the only survivor, the all weather Lingfield meeting.
