Portmarnock Golf Club, for long the preserve of the male golfers, is proposing to give women the opportunity of playing the famous North Dublin links on a more regular basis.
A proposal "that the members of Portmarnock Golf Club welcome lady visitors, introduced by and playing with members after 2.00 p.m. on Sundays and Bank Holidays" will be put to the members at their Annual General Meeting on December 9th.
Women have had the opportunity of playing the links with their husbands for the nominal sum of 50p.
