Joan Lucid was evidently seeing the lines clearly as she won the President's (Myles O'Connor) Prize at Black Bush in Dunshaughlin. Lucid scored 45 points to win by five shots but that was still well off the best women's performances of the week. Geraldine Moran claimed the Lady Captain's (Helen Pattison) Prize at Charlesland with 61 nett. In the Shell Qualifier in Athlone, Noirin O'Rourke notched up 49 points as did Romie McGreal in Baltinglass. But best of all was Cathy Curlette in Gort, who took the weekly singles with a whopping 51 points off 35.
