KEN DOHERTY hooked his place in the semi finals of the Liverpool Victoria Charity Challenge at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham last night by beating John Parrott 5-2.
Doherty, who tackles Ronnie O'Sullivan for a place in tomorrow's final, finished off Parrott in style a clearance of 103 completing his victory.
"It's amazing what a few wins can do for you. A few months ago I was really down in the dumps, it was a horrible time for me, but the door is open again and the light is shining."
"There is still a bit of work to do to get back to the form I was in early last season. Right now I'm concentrating on my safety game and in this match it was quite good. Doherty also had breaks of 67 and 53 and has now completed five successive victories over Parrott the world number four.
