Former tennis world number one Jennifer Capriati is set to face trial in December in a stalking and battery case involving her ex-boyfriend, it has been reported in the US.

The 37-year-old American is accused of punching Ivan Brannan while he worked out at a gym on Valentine’s Day and authorities also claim Capriati stalked him for several months.

Capriati pleaded not guilty to the charges earlier this year and the trial date has been set for December 17th.

The triple grand slam winner did not attend a hearing in Palm Beach County today, according to a report carried by the Palm Beach Post.

Capriati won the Australian Open twice and the French Open once during her career, and also claimed gold in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
