BIKEs; bikes, bikes. This game is all about bikes. Fast, super-fast - in fact, obscenely fast bikes.

Add just to spice it up a little more, all the racing takes place on the street where your enemies are your opponents and, of course, the law. So don your leathers, dirty up those hands and get ready to let her rip.

This is not the Isle of Man TT, this is road racing at the extreme. There are no barriers to keep the crowds away, no roads closed to keep the traffic at bay and when you take to the highways at tumultuous speeds your opponents will even resort to violence if necessary to dislodge you from your machine.

And to accompany all this mayhem is some thunderingly loud music performed by, amongst others, Soundgarden.

As a newcomer you are equipped with what can only be described as a souped-up hair dryer. To advance and play with the big boys you will have to win a lot of money - to do so you must finish in the top three in the races you enter.

When you finally earn enough to buy the bike of your dreams, it brings the game to a whole new level where the bikes as if they weren't quick enough already are equipped with nitro. This nitro, when used, hurtles the bike off into oblivion and will require all the skills of Joey Dunlop to keep you in the land of the living.

Aside from that little peril is The Law. And if you are one of those plonkers who manage to be nabbed by them it's Game Over. There are no questions asked. The ensuing video sequences will cement your embarrassment no end.
