IRISH international serum half David O'Mahony, who captained Cork Constitution last season, has become the latest international to move clubs. O'Mahony has joined Lansdowne.
He is a very notable capture for Lansdowne whose long serving scrum half, former international Fergus Aherne, retired at the end of last season.
O'Mahony won one cap, against Italy in Treviso in May 1995, having played for Ireland A in all three matches during 1995. He was on the Munster side that did the Interprovincial Grand Slam earlier that season.
A former Oxford University Blue, O'Mahony also played for UCC and Highfield before he joined Cork Constitution. His departure means that the Constitution club has now lost four internationals from last season's team. Gabriel Fulcher has gone to London Irish, Paul Burke and David Corkery have joined Bristol.
Although O'Mahony signed for Lansdowne after the June 1st deadline, he will be eligible from the start of next season as he is moving to work in Dublin and consequently his move is job related.
