Munich took advantage of a nightmare game from Paris St Germain goalkeeper Christophe Revault to score a thumping 5-1 victory over the French club in the Champions' League Group E match last night at the Olympic Stadium.

The win was Bayern's third straight in Group E and the Germans join Manchester United in Group B and Real Madrid in Group D with perfect records after three rounds.

Defending champions Borussia Dortmund slumped to a 1-0 defeat away to the Italians of Parma in Group A and lost their 100 percent record.

Brazilian Giovane Elber put Bayern ahead with a clever chip in Munich but two goals from Carsten Jancker were both the fault of the hapless Revault.

In the 24th minute, Revault comically failed to trap a backpass and Jancker swooped to guide it home. Then, early in the second half, Revault threw the ball straight to Elber, who promptly fed the grateful Jancker, who chipped home.

Italian Marco Simone briefly lifted Paris hopes with an opportunist strike, but Thomas Helmer made it 4-1 from close range with a shot that crashed into Revault's face on its way into the net and the masterful Elber slotted home the fifth in the 72nd minute to leave the French League leaders dispirited.

Bayern lead Besiktas of Turkey by three points in the group after the Istanbul side beat IFK Gothenburg of Sweden 1-0 with a goal from Derrlioglou Oktay after just six minutes.

Juventus are three points behind Manchester United after a 10 win away to Kosice in Slovakia. Alessandro del Pierro was the Italians' marksman, scoring from a free-kick in the 34th minute.

Real Madrid trailed to an early goal from Nikolaos Dabizas at home to the Greeks of Olympiakos, but rallied with a Davor Suker penalty after 33 minutes and a strike from Fernando Morientes just before half-time turning the tide. Suker netted a second penalty after the break and Victor and Carlos then scored late goals.

Rosenborg Trondheim of Norway, a surprise packet in Group D, beat FC Porto 2-0 in the same group thanks to first-half goals from Siguurd Rushfeldt and Harald Brattbakk. The Portuguese club had Moroccan midfieldfer Youssef Chippo sent off.

French champions Monaco scored their second straight win in Group F with a 5-1 triumph over the Belgians of Lierse. French international Thierry Henry opened the scoring in the first half and Scottish international John Collins netted soon after the break.

Lierse pulled a goal back through Eric van Meir but goals from Victor Ikpeba and David Trezeguet (2) put Monaco fully in command.

Bayer Leverkusen of Germany, beaten 4-0 by Monaco in the previous round, bounced back to win 2-0 away to Sporting Lisbon with second-half goals from Stefan Beinlich and Brazilian Emerson.

Argentine striker Hernan Crespo's 62nd-minute goal lifted Parma to victory over Dortmund and into the leadership of Group A, while Sparta Pargue overcame Galatasaray 3-0 - the Turks' third straight loss.

The holders' loss made it an unhappy return to Parma for Dortmund coach Nevio Scala, who enjoyed so many years of success with the Italian club.

Scala first won Parma promotion to the Serie A in 1989-90, and then added the Italian Cup (1992), European Cup Winners Cup (1993), European Super Cup (1994) and UEFA Cup (1995).

But there was nothing for him to celebrate here, after a defeat which could signal a premature end to his coaching career in Germany.

Parma coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "We really suffered for this victory. Everybody has been saying that Borussia are a team in crisis - but they certainly didn't look like a team in crisis tonight.

"It was a victory against a great team who created a lot of difficulties for us, even though for an hour Parma could not have played any better."
