Division One A

Kerry v Galway, Tralee (3.00)

Galway's experiments continue with Finbar Gantley back in the frame as the Athenry players are rested after their exploits in the club final. The experiments could go a good deal further without having any bearing on this clash with bottom-of-the-table Kerry.

Dublin v Antrim, Parnell Park

One Dublin have to win if they are to maintain their improbable hopes of a play-off spot. Michael O'Grady's team apparently had the beating of Galway but blew some good chances. Antrim weren't as impressive against a shadow Clare side and shouldn't trouble the home side although they did just that two years ago.

Clare v Limerick, Milltown Malbay

Both have been having some success with expanding the pool of players and this meeting will probably

decide the second semi-final spot. David Hoey gets a deserved call-up after contributing much to St Joseph's success over the last two years. Limerick's trials have more urgency about them as the county team is ageing beyond championship use. Whatever about the future - and the display against Offaly was encouraging - this looks like a home win.

Division One B

Derry v Wexford, Slaughtneil (1.30)

Pitiful at times against Tipperary, Wexford's lack of firepower won't be as debilitating in this fixture and anyway, Storey and Dempsey are back like ageing parents to bail out their feckless children.

Tipperary v Kilkenny, Thurles (4.00)

Tipp looked in fine fettle two weeks ago but will have more of a challenge from a Kilkenny side stung by their late collapse against Waterford and who hurled sublimely in the opening quarter of that match. Tipperary should have won by more in Enniscorthy where they matched Kilkenny's lack of killer instinct in Nowlan Park, albeit with less disastrous results. Kilkenny get a narrow vote.

Waterford v Cork, Walsh Park

This is a vital match for Waterford. In their recent successful years under Gerald McCarthy, Waterford have always found Cork a mental barrier. Tomorrow they bring Cork to Walsh Park and look as well-placed as they'll ever be to lower their oppressors' colours. Atmosphere will be electric after the home side's heroics in Kilkenny.

Division Two: Tyrone v London, Carrickmore; Wicklow v Roscommon, Arklow; Kildare v Westmeath, Naas; Meath v Down, Trim; Armagh v Carlow, Keady.

Division Three: Longford v Sligo, Longford; Fermanagh v Louth, Enniskillen; Leitrim v Donegal, Carrick-on-Shannon; Mayo v Cavan, Ballina.
