PHIL MICKELSON produced a birdie on the third extra hole to pip fellow American Just in Leonard for the Phoenix Open title in front of 156,879 spectators in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The pair both finished the regulation 72 holes at 15 under par, with Mickelson (25), shooting a final round 67, four under par, and 23 year old Leonard 69.
