Match-day ritual (Clones yesterday): "We'll meet at the local GAA centre around 10.30, stop in Athlone for breakfast. Arrive around 2.20 or so, look at a bit of the curtain-raiser and get ready from half-time of first game. Quick chat before we go out."

Best moment: "All-Ireland final of '97 between Kerry and Mayo."

Worst moment: "Things have gone well."

If you could change one rule in football, what would it be? "I'd allow picking off the ground. People believe that players are getting away with it as it is, so they may as well make it legal. It might stop some pushing, too."
