Clifford Byrne (16)
From Finglas, Byrne graduated from Tolka Rovers to Home Farm before joining Sunderland. He has already captained Ireland at Under-15 and Under-16 and plays at centre back for Sunderland. The youth coaches there place a lot of store on Byrne's influential personality and outgoing nature. Currently serving the final year of his apprenticeship.
Shane Harte (17)
Another midfielder, the Celbridge lad grew up playing with the local team. Harte is a current member of the Irish under-18 squad and is regarded as a strong central presence by coaches at Sunderland.
Brendan McGill (17)
The Swords youngster played on the wing on Brian Kerr's European Under-16 championship winning team last year. Having previously played with River Valley Rangers, McGill joined Sunderland on a three-year professional contract this season after completing his Leaving Certificate. He has already played twice for Sunderland reserves.
Thomas Butler (17)
From Artane, Butler has consistently represented Ireland from Under-15 on, but was injured for last year's European triumph in Scotland. Previously associated with Belvedere, Butler is developing into an attack-minded midfielder with delightful passing ability.
Finbarr Lynch (16)
Formerly with Belvedere Boys Club, Lynch is currently a first year apprentice. Plays Under-17 for Ireland and came to Sunderland to develop his talents as a winger. Notably consistent in delivering quality crosses.
Keith Graydon (15)
Still on trial with Sunderland and, although they are keen to sign him, a contract has yet to be ironed out. A lightening striker with a neat first touch, the Irish Under-16 international may well join the club in the summer.
