Motherwell 0 Rangers 3:DESPITE RANGERS' selection problems, Motherwell boss Stuart McCall admits his side always faced a difficult task against the Scottish champions.
“They had a lot of experienced defenders missing, but we knew they had the same threat going forward. We were under no illusions. We said before the game that we knew they had good players. That’s why these players are playing with the Old Firm, because they are good players.
“But we will be judged against St Mirren or Dunfermline or Hibs or Aberdeen. It’s a sore one and we are very disappointed with the way things went but to beat the Old Firm you have to score first and we didn’t do that.”
Motherwell thought they had levelled through Jamie Murphy, but the effort was disallowed for handball and McCall had no complaints about the decision. “He got it right. It came up and hit Jamie’s arm, unintentionally, but he controlled it with his arm. With all those bodies, ‘Eagle-eye’ saw it and got it right.”
