Sammy McIlroy has wiped the slate clean, bringing back Jim Magilton and Danny Sonner from the international wilderness after they were axed by former manager Lawrie McMenemy.

McIlroy will also recall Gerry Taggart, who has been excused for this match along with his Leicester team-mate Neil Lennon to prepare for Sunday's Worthington Cup Final, even though McMenemy ditched the defender for disciplinary reasons.

McIlroy, who confirmed that West Ham's Steve Lomas would continue as captain, plans to use as many of his 18-man party as possible. That means Manchester United reserve striker David Healy and Preston centre half Colin Murdock should win their first caps at some stage.

McIlroy's only injury concern is Wigan centre-half Pat McGibbon, who is still feeling the effects of a dead leg, but Michael Hughes, who had a cartilage operation recently, would be fit enough to play.
