Lomu left out

Winger Jonah Lomu was last night omitted from the New Zealand rugby union team to play South Africa in the series opener at Kings Park, Durban on Saturday.

Lomu, who had been troubled by a niggling knee injury, made a subdued return to action for the tourists' second stringers against Eastern Province on Tuesday night and All Black coach John Hart has decided to stick with the in form Glen Osborne on the left wing.
