HAIL TO HOME, who was backed from 10 to 1 to 6 to 1 when winning the Tarbert Handicap Hurdle at Listowel on March 2nd, has been disqualified and the race awarded to the runner up, Florida Star.

The horse's owner trainer, Martin Cullinane, whose stables are in Athenry, Co Galway, was fined £100 when he appeared before the appeals and referrals committee at the Turf Club yesterday.

The committee, on the evidence furnished to them, found that a prohibited substance, clenbuterol, was present in the sample taken from Hail To Home at Listowel, contrary to Rule 21 (iii).

At a separate inquiry, the committee found that a sample taken from Lisselan Prince after he had won the Red Mills Trial Chase at Gowran on February 17th contained a prohibited substance, caffeine, and the Fergus Sutherland trained.
