Lennox Lewis said last night he would welcome the chance to fight Mike Tyson before he retires, even though he described the former world heavyweight champion as "a train wreck waiting to happen" after his shameful display against Lou Savarese in Glasgow on Saturday.

Replying to Tyson's boast that he would "rip his (Lewis') heart from his body and feed it to him", Lewis said: "He's got to eat my right and left hands first. I got a whole bunch of phone calls saying: `Shut that geezer up and knock him out'.

"He definitely doesn't intimidate me. I have beaten other people with problems, and if Mike Tyson's the last misfit, I take the challenge."

Meanwhile, confronted by the criticism from fans who paid up to £500 sterling to see Tyson-Savarese in Glasgow, the British Boxing Board of Control has said it will review the contest at a meeting tomorrow. The board's president, Leonard "Nipper" Read has already said that Tyson should not be licensed to fight in Britain.
