AUSTIN LEAHY and Gerry O'Neill combined to land a 29 to 1 double at Tramore yesterday with Be My Folly and Indestructible.
Be My Folly, a 4 to 1 chance, just lasted home in the testing conditions to beat the fast finishing Garraun Native by a length in the Brownstown Mares Maiden Hurdle, and, according to her winning trainer, she will now go handicapping.
Indestructible survived a mistake at the final fence and then a stewards inquiry to win the Dunmore East Handicap Chase. Although he peeked on landing over the last, as did his closest challenger, Zvornik, Indestructible was quick to recover and went away on the run in to win by two lengths.
Blazing Trail, ridden by Danoli's new jockey, Tom Treacy, ran out a fortuitous winner of an eventful Metal Man Beginners Chase. The well backed favourite, Padash pan got no further than the first fence, where he blundered and lost his jockey, David Casey.
Then Percy Brennan looked set to a comfortable victor when he went clear from Blazing Trail before the final fence, but instead he gave Charlie Swan a heavy fall leaving the way clear for Pat Fahy's 7 to 1 chance to beat Celtic Sunrise by eight lengths.
Padashpan's jockey, David Casey, had earlier reduced his claim to 5lb when winning the Fenor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle on the Willie Mullins trained Over the Jordan.
Sleepy River gave Arthur Moore and owner J.P. McManus a rare Tramore success when getting the better of the favourite, Malacca King, on the run in to win the Passage Fast Maiden Hurdle by a head.
Corymandel and Philip Fenton landed the Tramore Hunters Chase for local trainer, Harry de Bromhead, the joint favourite beating his market rival, Johnny the Fox, by an easy eight lengths.
. Mark Perrett, taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton for precautionary x-rays after falling from Hullo Mary Doll at the west country track yesterday, is in a satisfactory condition and has been discharged" according to a hospital spokeswoman last night.
