Derry City - 2 Bray Wanderers - 2: Bray Wanderers went very close to lifting the spirits of their manager Pat Devlin, who missed last night's fixture at the Brandywell due to an impending hip operation.

With team affairs overseen by Tony McGuirk, Bray moved into a 2-1 lead in controversial circumstances in the 76th minute.

David Tyrrell whipped in a corner, Eamon Zayed flicked it on and Colm Tresson appeared to hook the ball home with his arm while on the ground.

But disaster struck for Bray in the 90th minute when Ruaidhrí Higgins floated over a corner and the unfortunate Brian McGovern headed the ball firmly into his own net .

In the end, a share of the spoils was probably a fair result given that Bray had bossed the first half but they failed to taken advantage of a number of clear-cut scoring chances.

The Co Wicklow men actually forced the pace of the game with both Tresson and Zayed presented with clear-cut chances within the opening 10 minutes, but both failed to find the target.

In the 21st minute the visitors were denied again by a superb David Forde save, the Derry goalkeeper denying Tresson from point blank range after Tyrrell had delivered a free into the area.

Bray finally got the goal their pressure deserved in the 35th minute. Zayed worked his way into the box and, after turning two defenders, his low centre was met my Andrei Georgescue, who turned the ball home from six yards.

Derry's Killian Brennan was stretchered off in the 44th minute with a hamstring injury before the home side grabbed a timely equaliser just before half-time.

Gary Beckett won an aerial challenge in the centre of the park before Brian Cash sent Ciarán Martyn scampering through on goal and the midfielder finished with aplomb.

After the break, the home side found their fluency and, with Paddy McCourt having replaced Brennan, Derry began to sparkle.

Farren had a goal disallowed for offside in the 67th minute as O'Connor found himself regularly involved in the affair.

However, for all Derry's persistence, they failed to grab a third goal which would have extended their winning league run to seven games.
