SCHOOLS RUGBY LEINSTER SENIOR LEAGUEKING'S HOSPITAL blasted back from a poor start to score three second-half tries at Templeville Road yesterday to earn a slot in the Leinster Schools Senior League final.

Newbridge must have been in positive mood when they moved into a 10-0 lead due to scrumhalf Peter Osbourne’s penalty and right wing Kevin Mahon’s opportunist try, converted by Osbourne, in the 12th minute.

Lock Josh Hinder eased King’s back into contention through penalties in the 31st and 39th minutes as they adapted to the conditions with a more direct approach in the second period.

Their frontrow of Des Merrey, Dale McDonough-Kinkade and Paul Mullen took over, leading to tries from blindside Tom Satchwell, Merrey and openside Brian du Toit, ahead of Darragh Hennebry’s injury-time consolation.
