Kidney plays key role

MUNSTER SCHOOL'S SENIOR CUP: PBC 15 Crescent College 0

MUNSTER SCHOOL'S SENIOR CUP:PBC 15 Crescent College 0

SECOND-HALF tries from Cian Bohane and Johnny MacCarthy helped PBC to book their place in the last four of the Munster Schools’ Senior Cup, as they overcame Crescent College at Temple Hill yesterday.

This game was closer than the scoreline suggests as PBC led 3-0 at half-time thanks to an early penalty from Kevin Kidney, son of Ireland coach Declan. The PBC outhalf was instrumental in the game’s opening try nine minutes into the second half, laying the ball off brilliantly for Cian Bohane, who showed an impressive turn of pace to get in for the try, having received the ball inside his own half. Johnny MacCarthy touched down for PBC’s second try on the stroke of full-time. PBC now face rivals CBC in the semi-finals in the first week of March.
