Peter Canavan's Goal: In a way, it was the most important move in the entire final

Peter Canavan's Goal: In a way, it was the most important move in the entire final. For most of the first half, Kerry seemed to be able to find scores with the greater ease and there were occasions when the Tyrone players were really searching for scores.

That goal changed everything, it really gave Tyrone a lift. It was an exquisite finish by Canavan. He had so little time on the ball and minimal space but he just made it look so easy. Even though Dara Ó Sé replied with a big point, Tyrone had the momentum and drive going in at half-time.

Tomás Ó Sé's Goal

The goal should have given Kerry the lifeline they so badly needed but they were not able to build on it. The response just was not there. Instead, Tyrone just raised their game.Chris Lawn - who was an excellent substitute to bring in - won great ball and was able to drive Tyrone out of defence and play it forward intelligently.

At one stage, he won a great ball in a thicket of Kerry jerseys and Tyrone worked the ball down for Canavan, just back in, to kick a tremendous point. Tyrone have that capacity to never panic, even though Ó Sé's goal came at a perfect time for Kerry.

Brian McGuigan's Last Point

It was the definitive score of the game. It will stay in my head for a long time because of the patience and intelligence with which Tyrone moved the ball around. It must have passed through eight or nine hands as they sought and sought the opening and when it wasn't happening they rotated and started again.

Eventually McGuigan popped up in space and clipped the score. It was all about coolness and smart football and the ability of players to interchange and to be comfortable in all sectors of the field.

In that move and all season, Tyrone have shown the future of football. These are athletic footballers who are completely at home in all areas of the field. The way they had the composure and self-belief and mutual trust to mind the ball so carefully at that point of the game before finding the score impressed me greatly. I think they have shown that this is the way that All-Irelands are going to be won in the future.

After the season they have had, you have to say they are very worthy champions.
