THE £75,000 Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown on Sunday looks set to go abroad once more with triple winner Jodami being joined in the line up by fellow English runners Master Oats and Monsieur Le Cure.
Jodami is bidding for an unprecedented fourth win on the trot for trainer Peter Beaumont and jockey Mark Dwyer in a contest which has gone to English trained challengers for the past six years.
Jodami has been confirmed a definite runner by trainer Beaumont, and with One Man bypassing Ireland's richest conditions chase, it is no surprise that Kim Bailey and John Edwards elected to leave Master Oats and Monsieur Le Cure among the acceptors at yesterday's forfeit stage.
While Jodami has not been in action since winning at Kelso in November, Monsieur Le Cure and Master Oats were second and third behind One Man in the rescheduled King George VI Tripleprint Chase at Sandown and will ensure that Sunday's valuable winner's prize will not be easily gained.
Of the Irish challengers, Life Of A Lord - unbeaten since joining champion trainer Aidan O'Brien - and last year's Irish Grand National winner Flashing Steel would appear the pick.
