Leicester midfielder Muzzy Izzet produced a finish of true quality to clinch a last-gasp victory over Spurs on a dramatic night at Filbert Street.

It was a fitting end to a night which at times appeared to have more to do with the future of Leicester manager Martin O'Neill than the result. The Irishman was afforded a hero's welcome as he walked out before kick-off, as thousands of supporters united in their plea for him to ignore Leeds United's overtures.

But his side had to come from behind after a shaky start. It took the visitors just 13 minutes to make their early advantage count, as Ruel Fox and Darren Anderton combined to split the City defence. Fox's pass put Anderton into acres of space, and he had time to measure his cross to Les Ferdinand, who side-footed past Kasey Keller.

City clawed their way back into the game eight minutes before the break. Emile Heskey muscled his way past Ramon Vega and sent a blistering left-foot shot past Espen Baardsen and into the top corner.
