SUGGESTIONS that Ireland might cite the England prop Graham Rowntree for an alleged stamp on Ireland hooker Allan Clarke in the closing stages of the match at Twickenham last Saturday can be discounted. Nor will Ireland be sending a video of the incident to the English Rugby Union.

This was confirmed last night by IRFU president Dr Syd Millar who said: "There was some unease about the incident but we had a look at the video before we left London and there is no evidence to warrant citing, the player or drawing the attention of the RFU to the incident."

Former international referee Dave Burnett was among those who studied the video after which it was decided that there is not a case to answer.
