David Justice smacked a three-run home run and the Cleveland Indians recovered from a first-inning ejection of their manager and starting pitcher for a 9-5 home victory over Boston.

The victory evened their best-of-five American League first-round series at 1-1, with games three and four set for tomorrow and Saturday at Boston. A fifth game would be in Cleveland on Monday if needed.

Cleveland manager Mike Hargrove was ejected only three pitches into the game after home plate umpire Joe Brinkman called each of Indians' starter Dwight Gooden's tosses a ball rather than a strike.

The first two Red Sox batters, Darren Lewis and John Valentin, reached base to set up a play that led to yet another ejection.
