It was Weir's 21st birthday and he had been hoping to impress his new boss having signed a new one-year deal last month. But his afternoon took a turn for the worse in the 57th minute when he was hurt in a challenge by Vinny Perth that required the stretcher bearers to help him off the pitch.
Gerard Rowe and David Bell had the home side's best chances, but they couldn't find the net.
