DAVID HARRISON was handed the chance to secure his second Derby of the summer when he was booked to ride Single Empire in Saturday's Epsom race yesterday.
The jockey and the colt he drove to a nose success in the Derby Italiano are to be re-united in the Classic for which they are rated 50 to 1 outsiders.
Harrison, was handed the mount after John Reid opted to partner Romanov of the Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained duo.
The rider's only previous experience of the demanding Epsom Classic came on Chief Contender, who ran on to finish ninth behind Shaamit last year. He has a fine record for Chapple-Hyam, especially abroad where he registered his first Group One triumph on the supposed stable second string in Rome last month.
Harrison will team up with Single Empire tomorrow morning when Chapple-Hyam works his pair on the track.
Reid's decision to partner Romanov resulted in William Hill cutting his odds to 40 to (from 50 to 1) while Musalsal, Michael Hills' confirmed mount, is also in to 40 to 1.
